Val senales

Val Senales (German: Schnalstal) has become famous all over the world for being the place where the Similaun mummy was found. The mummy was nicknamed “Ötzi” and it’s remembered even in the ArcheoPark, a prehistoric museum which illustrates the everyday life in South Tyrol during the time of Ötzi. Val Senales lies right before Val Venosta (German: Vinschgau, Ladin Val Venuesta) and it’s famous for skiing in Italy: it’s possible to ski even in summer, especially around Maso Corto (German: Kurzras). The Val Senales altitude varies from 1245 and 2011 metres and other attractions of this valley are: the didactic farm located at Madonna di Senales (German: Unser Frau) and Certosa (German: Karthaus) built on a convent ruins.

Summer ski Val Senales

You’ve read it well: summer ski Val Senales; here it’s possible to ski even in summer- the right place for the most passionate skiers. It’s possible to ski in June here, when the chair- and ski-lift re-open. It’s also possible to do some Nordic ski here! Val Senales is a very famous ski holidays destination in Italy; many national teams gather here to train, as here lies a glacier whose altitude is more than 3000 meters. That’s why here it’s possible to ski in summer as well: the snow which has fallen here all year round deposits here and never melts. Ski runs are very-well prepared and chair- and ski lifts are safe; beyond skiing, snowboarding and free-style are possible here.
